Jayniece Higgins Harris’ serves the firm as an attorney, providing guidance to the firm in the practice areas of personal injury, uncontested divorce, and estate planning. She provides critical training and oversight to the firm to ensure that each client’s case is handled with the utmost care.
Jayniece graduated from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, and has always had one focus: “Make sure that your clients are treated the way you want your family to be treated.” From then on, she has made sure she has fought for others that may not have any one else to fight for them.
During her tenure as an Assistant Public Defender, Jayniece handled caseloads ranging from misdemeanors to felonies and was the Public Defender Division Leader of the Mental Health Court in General Sessions Criminal Court Division 9. Prior to being a Public Defender, Jayniece worked for a nationwide personal injury law firm where she handled slip and fall, dog bite, and negligent security cases.
Jayniece also serves as a part-time Commissioner for the Civil Service Commission for the City of Memphis, a City board that conducts hearings to review disciplinary actions, limited to suspensions, dismissals, or demotions of specific Memphis City employees. She is licensed in Tennessee and is currently awaiting Arkansas licensure.
Jayniece enjoys spending time with her family and playing video games in her spare time.
